Many of us have heard the phrase “you don’t write my story”. This is known to be said by people when someone has told them they can’t do something, usually pertaining to a passion or dream. When I first heard this phrase, it was extremely powerful to me. It said to me, that others cannot determine my destination. That meant no one could limit me. Any limitations I felt were actually put upon myself, by ME.
I want to speak to those that have never heard this phrase before. Say it out loud: “you don’t write my story”. Doesn’t that feel good to say? It gives us that inner power to pursue those dreams that someone said NO to. Erase what they said. If you believe within yourself that you can achieve a dream, then “go for it”. Don’t let others stop or detour you from it.
In our journey of life, no one knows the end of the story, therefore how can they possibly know the middle. It’s in the middle of the story of our lives, where all our hopes and dreams lie. I challenge you to pursue them with force and urgency and be the Author of your story.
Please write me back and share an experience you had where someone tried to “write your story”.
