Have you ever thought what life would be like without friends? For myself, I can’t imagine. I consider friendship a necessity to have a good balanced life. Friendships come in different waves (long-term, short-term, and seasonal), but all are important and valuable in life's journey. Friends are like therapists, they listen and give advice to help us through situations. True friendships are priceless, you can never put a monetary value on them. Friends allow you to be who you truly are, which is the gateway to open and honest communication.
As I see it, there is really only one golden rule to friendship; which is: “ you must be a friend to have a friend”. This means when you have a best friend or a really good friend, then you must be there for them as they are for you. Friendships cannot be selfish nor one sided.
If you know of anyone who doesn’t have a friend, take time out to get to know them. Maybe they are shy and not good at approaching people. They might feel like and outsider, and you just might be the doorway to them becoming an insider. This will give you a great opportunity to share the joy of friendship with someone who has never experienced it before.
Please write me back and share a great story about you and your friend(s).
