It’s been quite a while since I last communicated with you all. I’ve been on a long vacation traveling out of the country. I had such a great time. I saw amazing places, tried different foods, met amazing people, and heard the best stories. It was a great experience for me. I haven’t traveled like that in a couple of years. Well, I’m back and ready to write. My topic this week is about vacationing and the importance of it.
Vacation means an extended period of recreation; or the action of leaving something one previously occupied. Life keeps us all very busy, whether it’s going to school, work, or even spending time with family and friends. We move at such a fast pace that we forget to vacation. I’m speaking of vacationing in a mental sense. Although, I was able to take a vacation and actually travel out of my normal surroundings, you don’t have to. You can vacation out of your everyday life and circumstances, by temporarily allowing your mind to escape from where you are. I remember a Calgon commercial years ago that said “Calgon take me away”, this was a very catchy marketing phrase that was used by Calgon to sell their product. It was marketed to have people buy their product for their baths, with the understanding that it would surely take you into a relaxing place. The visual from the commercials had many consumers sold. My point is that it allowed you to go on a vacation when you physically couldn’t.
This week take some time for yourself and mentally go on vacation. Whether it’s taking a Calgon bath:), listening to relaxing music, or my favorite - listening to soothing sounds such as the ocean, rainforest, or sounds of Thailand. Just pick one and go on vacation. "Happy Mental Traveling".
P.S.......By the way, you have to actually return back from your mental travels. Sometimes they can be so peaceful that you want to stay. My suggestion is to book them more frequently.
Write me back and tell me where you went on vacation.
