Works of art come in many forms – music, paintings, photographs, poetry, etc. They are, simply defined, the products of creative expression. We all experience art in a different way. We may hear the same song and appreciate different things about it – maybe the melody, maybe the lyrics. We may look at the same photograph and see very different things and feel completely different emotions. What is important to realize is that for true artists the work of art is more about the process, than the finished piece.
We, as human beings, are like works of art; our artist….The Creator. When we are born, we come into the world unshaped and moldable, open and receptive. As we navigate this journey called life, our experiences shape and mold us. The same way a sculptor does with clay or a wood carver with the trunk of a tree. Every lesson, every pain, every joy is a like a chisel creating dimension and depth to who we are as people. We are works in progress and those we connect with along this journey see and share in our growth; they get to see the Artist at work. We are His products of creative expression……..His expression of love.
The next time you are faced with a challenge in your life, no matter what it is, try to picture yourself as a sculpture. Take a moment to visualize the challenge as a tool that will deepen your character, strengthen your spirit, and fine tune your heart. Think about how the challenge will benefit you and you will see that you are able to face it head on.
Know that life, nor art, is about perfection and becoming something that will remain the same and viewed only one way. It is about the process and how you are always becoming more of who you were born to be.
Please leave me a comment and tell me about something that maybe challenging you and if this post helps you in any way. Have a great week, and remember…
