October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and I’d like to take this moment to acknowledge all those who have been affected by breast cancer.
First and foremost to the warriors that have won their battle and to those that are still in the fight – I honor and salute you. This fight is for your life and it takes everything you have to battle for it. BRIMI stands for Beauty Resides In My Image and my prayer for you all is that no matter what your experience with cancer that you will continue to see your beauty. It is in your strength and tenacity. It is in the sharing of your story to help another. It is in your desire to keep going for your family. It is in the smile that you manage to share, even after chemo. It is in the moment that you dare to show the world the loss of your hair. It is within who you are, not in the mirror. Be beautiful in your battle.
To the foot soldiers that support the warriors – the family, friends, medical staff, clergy, and counselors. You take physical care, you listen, you advise, you support whenever and wherever needed – I commend you. To all who have walked the miles and donated to the cause, to all that support the research to eradicate this enemy – I thank you. This fight is never won without you.
Lastly, to the fallen heroes of the battle, you now have new purpose. Your valiant efforts are not forgotten and you continue to guide and inspire us. We are grateful for your angel spirits that help us along our way.
I encourage everyone to do something to show your support for breast cancer research and for the warriors. Be it joining a walk, volunteering your time, lending a listening ear or donating to cancer research. Every battle won brings us closer to winning the war.
Please comment and share your story or let us know what you’re doing to support the cause.
Until my next post, be blessed and remember….always do you.
