Hope you are all well and looking forward to a great week!
I’m writing today about finding your voice. This week we celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr., one of the most prominent figures in the civil rights movement. Now we hear many things about Dr. King and who he was. Sometimes I think we forget that he began as a man that found his calling, then his voice and used it to change the world. When we look at him in terms of being a person just like you and me; the possibility that we can find our voice and use it, becomes more real.
I would like for you all to take some time and think about something that you are passionate about. This could be an experience – good or bad – that changed your life and you want to express your feelings about it. It could be a dream you have of changing your environment – home, community or the world and you want the world to know you have the answer. Whatever it is, if it moves you and you are called to express yourself don’t be afraid to do it.
Once you have found that passion, write about it; speak to your family, friends, teachers and community leaders about it. Give voice to your passion and see what you can achieve by being courageous enough to SPEAK about it.
You will never know what you are capable of until you challenge yourself; but you must first find your passion and it will lead you to your voice.
Write and tell me what your passion is and how you plan to use your voice.
Have a fantastic week, and remember…..
Always do you,
