This week I’d like to talk about letting go of things in our lives that hold us back from being our best selves. There are times that we are disappointed that we didn’t make the team, or someone has hurt our feelings or our achievement has gone unnoticed. We may have had a silly argument with someone we love or the experience of someone being unkind to us. We may be in relationships that are of no benefit to us or the other party. All of these experiences happen for a reason – to teach us lessons. In them we are supposed to grow and expand our thought process….and then let them go. Holding on will only weigh you down.
If we have been hurt, angered or disappointed by someone or something, we have every right to feel what we feel. However holding on to those feelings once the lesson has been learned will only hinder you from moving forward. Picture packing a suitcase to go on a trip – the more clothes you pack the heavier the suitcase. Before you know it you can’t lift it to get it in the car, so now you have to remove some items to make the bag lighter. Once you’ve removed some things you can be on your way.
Your spirit works the same way the more you weigh it down with hurt, disappointment and anger, the heavier it becomes. When you learn to let go of negative feelings…your spirit will fly and you heart will soar. The possibilities of where your journey will take you are endless. So let go!
