I recently heard someone say, “I am a human being, not a human doing”. Now this struck me in a way that made me stop what I was doing and think WOW! They were discussing how we’ve become so involved in life that we are always doing something and those “somethings” become who we think we are.
I thought about this a great deal and realized that it was true. We move so quickly throughout the day that it becomes difficult to even remember what we did. That leaves little room for recognizing how we have changed, what we’ve learned and how we may have touched someone else in a given day. This is human doing - we have to get back to human being.
It is important that each day we have a moment to just be – take a deep breath, sing your favorite song, read something inspiring, speak out loud your daily affirmation, meet a stranger. Do something that makes you a better human being and helps you enjoy just that………being human.
